Hello! I’m Angela Ledgerwood, the host and creator of the Lit Up Podcast.

I am also the Editorial Director of the Sugar23 Books imprint at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) that’s devoted to amplifying bold and timely stories from original voices.

I started my career at Interview Magazine before becoming a features editor at Cosmopolitan Magazine where I interviewed some of my favorite people including Senator Elizabeth Warren and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Over the years I’ve worked as a books columnist at Esquire.com, brand strategist, a festival programmer, and a writer at Marie Claire, Condé Nast Traveler, New York Magazine, Elle, The Australian and The Australian Financial Review. I also love to talk to writers IRL at places like the Sydney Writers’ Festival, the Brooklyn Book Festival, and the Byron Writers Festival.

Now I’m lucky enough to spend my days talking to writers and trying to find books I love enough to publish.
